This stunning family residence is located in the picturesque Dorset town of Christchurch. With its enviable location on the seafront, the dwelling has been thoughtfully designed to take full advantage of the stunning views on offer.
The external design, whilst being contemporary, celebrates the natural environment with stone cladding and wide expanses of glazing, with a selection of materials and textures emphasizing the various elements of the structure. The internal design complements the external geometry; an oak floating staircase with glass balustrading and oak continuous handrail dissects the house, running from top to bottom. A feature double volume space opens the rear of the house, allowing stunning sea views from both the ground and first floors.
The house offers versatile accommodation throughout, with ample space to entertain, generous bedrooms with stunning views, and privacy to the upper most floor with his and hers studies. The basement houses a bespoke 25 m swimming pool with feature wall.
David James Architects undertook the concept design, planning, technical design, interior design and project management for this project.
