Currently under construction, this retirement scheme in Dorking designed by DJA comprises 22 luxury retirement apartments, ancillary café and members lounge. The aesthetics of this contemporary scheme have been enhanced by the use of high-quality materials and carefully considered use of architectural forms. The framing elements around the terraces of many of the flats provide key focal points for the building.
The perceived size of the building has been reduced by the use of varied architectural forms, such as higher parapets combined with roof canopies and further framing at First Floor level. Externally, the building is clad in large-format ceramic tiles which provide the proposal with a crisp and aesthetically pleasing finish. This combined with white render, linear black bricks, and dark grey aluminium windows, creates an interesting palette of textures and tonal variation.
We designed this scheme for Renaissance Retirement whilst working closely with Pegasus Life and Hackwood Homes.
